Coupon codes can be created by the event director to offer discounts, either as a percentage or a fixed dollar amount, which can be applied at checkout. Coupons can be specific to one event or used across multiple events (see “Multi-Event Coupons” below) and can have a limited number of uses.
For example, you could offer a discount to club members, provide a discount to the first 50 registrants, or set a discount for early registration by setting an expiration date.
How to Set Up Coupons
1. Login to your Event Director account.
2. Go to the Marketing Tools menu > click on Coupons"
3. Click the Add Coupon:
You can choose between the following options.
- Create unique coupon(s): Create a coupon with a custom name of your choice.
- Generate multiple random coupons: Automatically generate coupon names using a mix of letters and numbers (e.g., 5XS4T9M).
4. Fill out the Coupon Details.
- Coupon Name - The specific code that will be entered by customers at checkout. Note that this cannot be edited once created
- Coupon Group Name - Used only when generating multiple random coupons. It helps to identify and organize coupon groups in the list. Note that this cannot be edited once created
- Discount Type - choose the type of discount: Percent Off, Amount Off, Fixed Price, or Reusable Gift Card
- Coupon Value - the dollar amount off, or the percentage amount off
- Coupon Applies To - Choose Cart Total if you want to offer just one discount per cart, i.e. $20 off the entire cart, regardless of the number of events entered. Choose Each Cart Item, if you want to have the discount apply to each eligible item in the cart.
- Expiration Date - you are required to enter the last date you want this coupon to be valid; the coupon will expire at 11:59 PM on the date you've chosen
- Coupon Is Valid For - choose the categories for which the coupon is valid; click the box by the event name to make the coupon valid for all categories
- Custom Question - select this option if you want to apply the coupon to a custom question set with a cost
Tip: Use the green box at the bottom of the Details section to see a visual summary of the coupon’s settings and ensure the discount works as intended.
5. Coupon Is Valid For: Check the boxes for the categories and merchandise to which the coupon will apply.
6. Custom Questions: Decide whether the coupon can apply to custom questions with a cost.
7. Notification Settings: Check the box to receive email notifications when the coupon code is used.

How to Edit, View Usage, Delete, and Share Coupons
- To edit, view usage, or delete a coupon, click the three dots next to the coupon.
- Share your coupon code with prospective participants. Use the Email Tools to contact previous event participants.
Multi-Event Coupons
To apply coupon codes across multiple events, use the Multi-Event Coupons tool.

Navigate to Event Director Tasks > Multi-Event Coupons.

All existing coupons will appear under Multi-Event Coupon Codes, active and expired.
View and Revive Expired Coupons
The Coupons page defaults to showing all active coupons. To view expired coupons, simply click on "Expired Coupons." You can edit an expired coupon to update its usage or expiration date and bring it back to life!
