Enabling USAC Sanctioning for Your Event
During General Event Setup, scroll to the Sanctioning section.
Select USA Cycling from the dropdown. If you have your USAC permit number ready, you can enter that and select to use the USAC online waiver. If you do not have your permit number yet, you can add it later on and enable the online waiver.
You will also have the option to Collect a Beginner One-Day fee, If you choose to automatically collect funds for USA Cycling Beginner One Day Licenses through BikeReg, these funds will be sent directly to USA Cycling. If you choose not to, you will be responsible for paying those fees to USAC.
USAC Category Settings
On the Category setup page Edit the category you would like to add USAC License settings too. Scroll to the "Sanctioning" section and enable it. You can choose from the dropdown to have the USAC license Required, Optional or not collected.
Beginner One-Days will be available if the Category Restrictions allow Novice participants in that category. Registrants in categories that are not set up to allow beginner one-day licenses will be able to buy an experienced one day license for $35 if they've previously held an annual USA Cycling license.
License Verification
When USA Cycling license required is toggled on for a category, BikeReg validates the participant's license number in real time using the USAC database. This ensures:
-
The license is valid
-
The number matches the rider’s profile
-
The category aligns with their license
Note: Participants may select a one day or international license.
If the rider profile does not match the USAC license number , the participant will receive a “Registration Incomplete” warning:
The participant can then select the clickable “edit” link to be redirected for correcting their license number and/or information.
The license verification tool will also verify that the participant is registering for the correct category corresponding to their USA Cycling license if category restrictions are in place.
If participants register for a different category than what is listed under their active license, they will also receive a warning from the system. They may receive an option to override that restriction, if this happens you will receive a message, this most commonly happens right after they upgrade a category, but the USAC database has not been updated yet.
